I am not sure how to get it to work when you are hosting, but this is what worked for me. I am playing with a controller and the way I got it to work was to just use your controller to get to the character you want to play as and leave your selection over the character you want to play as and have the other person hit start. I press everything in my controller & keyboard, but nothing happens :CCC The same thing happened to me.

I pressed all my keyboard like an angry gorilla, and only that way I can play with my favorite character, Y.V, but I can't do that thing again.

Beating this area teleports you straight to 3-3, which means you skip any remaining Desert levels, the Sewers and Scrapyard 3-1 and 3-2.

The Weapon Chest in this area drops weapons from 2-1 and below.

The difficulty of this area is the same as in 1-2, 1-3, or 2-1.

If you didn't manage to kill Big Bandit in time the regular level ending portal will teleport you to the Sewers, even if you spawned Big Bandit in 1-1 or 1-2.

If you kill Big Bandit faster than 10 seconds, the portal to Oasis will open on his corpse. Opening the chests will spawn Big Bandit.

To get here you have to open the Ammo and Weapon Chests and the Radiation Canister on any Desert level without killing too many enemies, which is 2% of enemies on 1-1 and 1-2, and 10% on 1-3.

Flame Pellet Weapons also won't have the burn effect and only do impact damage.

Fire Weapons won't work, the Flare Gun will only do impact damage.

In additon Mimics will also have bubbles around them allowing them to be easily recognised.

Characters and Bandits in this area are inside air bubbles apart from Fish and Robot.
